Strengthening The Team

Baker Perkins has strengthened its twin-screw extrusion team serving the powder coating and pharmaceutical industries with the appointment of Paul Young as technical development manager.

He is responsible for the ongoing evolution of the Baker Perkins range of twin-screw extruders and ancillary equipment through a comprehensive R&D programme. He will also develop this technology in new process sectors.

Paul brings a wealth of experience to this role. He previously worked for Baker Perkins for 37 years in a variety of sales, customer service and manufacturing positions.

Baker Perkins has been at the forefront of twin-screw extrusion technology since pioneering its introduction over 30 years ago, and has an installed base of over 1,000 extruders world-wide.

As well as new machines, Baker Perkins’ Lifetime Support services cover replacement parts, service, barrel replacements and process optimization, plus upgrades and rebuilds for installed machinery.

Baker Perkins’ twin-screw machines all feature clamshell barrels and have power trains specifically designed for mixing and compounding of thermosetting material, particularly powder coating, toner and EMC. They are available for outputs from laboratory scale to over four tonnes per hour. Other applications include granulation and spheronization for pharmaceuticals.
