CASE HISTORY - Capacity Increase in Indonesia
Problem
The challenge was to increase the output of sandwich biscuits from 2,060 per minute in 12 lanes to 2,400 per minute in 20. No budget was available for new equipment and only a two week window in the production schedule was available to make the necessary changes.

Solution

A site survey was carried out by a Baker Perkins Service Engineer who identified the work required to refurbish the 13 year old machines. Meanwhile, engineers in Peterborough, UK, identified the parts required to increase the output.

These were then combined in a challenging but achievable programme of work to meet the customer’s schedule.

Result
The work was carried out on site to save both time and money. It was completed on time, enabling the line to be started up on schedule and without any problems.

The project delivered a 17% increase in production for a fraction of the cost of new or additional equipment and, thanks to the extensive refurbishment, now has a whole new lease of life. BACK | NEXT
